If you have an interest in Roman and Saxon history, you should visit the Church of St Kyneburgha, in Castor, built from 1120AD in honor of St Kyneburgha - the daughter of King Penda of Mercia who founded a convent on the site in 650AD. In addition, there are a range of interesting historically significant sites around Castor, the neighbouring village of Ailsworth and the Peterborough area. |

If you enjoy the outdoors, the nearby Nene Park offers 2000 acres of beautiful parkland (including the 500 acre Ferry Meadows Country park) , with it's chain of rivers and lakes, where you can enjoy walking, cyling, rowing, windsurfing, fishing and birdwatching. |

Places to visit |
Burghley House is open between April and October and is well worth a visit. This largest and grandest house of the first Elizabethan age was completed by William Cecil, Lord Burghley in 1587.
